What do our clients have to say about their experiences visiting the Orangutans and travelling with Orangutan Odysseys.....
What Annasaid about her trip in May 2011......
"Orangutan Odysseys May 2011. I have never had the great urge to travel to Indonesia, however after joining the Orangutan Odysseys Borneo trip in May 2011, I cant wait to go back. From seeing the great creatures in the wild jungles of Borneo to holding an infant at the Orphanage, this trip has offered too many great experiences to mention. The OO team made the trip a truly memorable and happy one"
What Alison said about her trip in May 2011.....
"I love traveling, going out into the wilderness, wild animals etc... the only thing I am not particularly adventurous on is food, so I was expecting to enjoy the Orangutan Odysseys trip to Borneo (however I wasn't sure if I would be able to eat anything)... the amazing thing was, despite my very high expectations of having a fantastic time and enjoying everything... all my expectations were far surpassed!!! from the start to the finish, this trip was organised perfectly (not that we didn't have some unexpected excitement with the luggage), the food was fantastic (I ended up putting on 2 kg in the 2 weeks the food was so good!), the orangutans were even more amazing that I could ever have imagined. I would (and am) recommending the Orangutan Odysseys trip to anyone, how can you resist the baby orangutan's dark brown eyes when they are looking at you... speaking to you through their eyes ... pleading with you to save their habitat :-)"
WhatMaxhas to say about his Orangutan experience......
"When Dad came home and told me we were going to Borneo I had no idea what to expect. This was my first trip overseas and I thought we'd just go chill in Bali, but this was amazing. I took heaps of photos and saw so many amazing things. My favourite parts were the swamp (especially when dad fell in...twice), hanging out on the boat, seeing all the orangutans in the wild and most of all, playing with them at the care center. I also made friends with our Indonesian guides, Gilang, Danny and Eddy, they were really cool guys. It was awesome. I want to do it again."
What Michael has to say about his recent trip to Borneo with OO......
"My son, Max, and I joined the Orangutan Odysseys trip to Borneo earlier this year hoping we'd see a few Orangutans and get a few nice shots. We got so much more than that. Max and I had a fabulous time, shared with a small but wonderful group of people in some of the most beautiful wilderness you'll find anywhere - lush green jungle, black water rivers that look like mirrors, brilliant coloured birds, all the Orangutans, Macaques, Gibbons and Probiscus monkeys and the unbelievably spectacular fireflies at night. You can't help but turn into an environmentalist along the way. I can't thank Garry and our guides, Gilang, Dani and Edy enough for such a memorable trip. Did we get some great shots? Yep, hundreds"
What Suehas to say about her recent trip with OO....
"Having recently returned from Borneo the Orangutan Odyssey trip was a reality check for the plight of countries trying to survive economically at the expense of the wild life. The demand for land to grow palm trees which can provide income to the country versus a natural habitat for the beautiful orangutans. To see these beautiful creatures in the wild only inspires and invigorates the challenge to help keep the habitat and reforest areas decimated by humans in order to maintain viability of the species. Visiting the orphanage was humbling to witness the dedication and tireless caring the staff provided to the infant orphaned orangutans. Even more disturbing the fact that many orangutans could be released back to the jungle but to do so would place them in danger due to over population. Our family have certainly discussed the plight of the orangutans with family and friends in a small attempt to ply funds which can support a wonderful facility and program which has a sole focus on survival of the orangutan species. We already have confirmed participants for next years tour of Borneo. Thanks for the opportunity to contribute in a small way, lets hope the tours are a great success and can impact on the Indonesian government to reduce forest degradation."
