Our Team

Meet the OO team - we are all very passionate about the Orangutans & their habitat and love our work.

Peter Miller- Expedition Manager

Pete_Pic

Peter has been passionate about Orangutans since his first visit to Borneo nearly 20 years ago. Now the Managing Director of No Roads Expeditions and father to 4 children, he has helped establish Orangutan Odysseys so that the jungle and the creatures that live within it, will survive for his children and his children's children. " I firmly believe that Tourism will play a vital part in protecting the eco system of the Orangutan. Tourism done responsibly will add value and retain both the environmental and social aspects of an area".

Garry Sundin - Expedition Manager

There are few people more passionate about life than Garry.  Having travelled extensively throughout all areas of Indonesia he has become firmly entrenched with his love of the Orangutans and his desire to help save them and their habitat for future generations to also have the opportunity & privilege to experience these magnificent animals in their natural environment.

He was born 26th May 1982 and  has worked for 5 year as a guide in Tanjung Puting national park and is now  one of our team for Orangutan Odysseys. Edy enjoys being a guide and thinks its a really good job because there are lot of visitors that need a local guide, who knows the area and can speak English. Edy loves to work where he can see the Orangutans in the wild. He believes that because they are so closely related to us, that we have an obligation to help save them and their habitat.

Noval Baharaun - Klotok Captain & Guide

Noval

Noval started his career in tourism in 1990, he began as a assistant to a boat captain and a few years later he started again after he learnt to cook and then he became assistant cook while also working on boats. Noval believes that Tourism is a very good business and in 2007 he and his family began building boats, completing Mama 1 in 2008. Noval finished Mama 3 in 2010 and hope to expand his fleet further. Noval and his family have now teamed up with Orangutan Odysseys and provide the transport in Borneo for the Orangutan Expeditions up the River on his 3 homemade Klotoks. With the funds approved by Orangutan Odysseys Noval has been able to update the boats and paint them in OO colors and prints, with many people commenting and liking the newly painted Klotoks. Noval is grateful that he has been given the opportunity to work with OO and Garry and looks forward to many more years partnership with them. Noval would like to say thanks to the OO team he says "this is the experience of my life, working on my boats and in tourism, thank you very much for your trust in us and making us part of your Borneo OO team”.
