Educational Expeditions - Secondary Schools & Tertiary

As habitats diminish and bio diversity dwindles, it is more and more evident that the future of our planet is in the hands of the youth of today.

OO endeavors to educate and engage the youth of today through the wonderful environment in which the Orangutan lives. Through these educational journeys, school students will receive a balanced and comprehensive understanding of not only the environment but also how humanity interacts with it from a social, economic and political perspective.

Orangutan Odyssey is an organization that believes the environment can be saved through eco-tourism. We are looking to work with schools to not only raise awareness and save the beautiful Orangutans, but also create school expeditions that integrate with the National Curriculum.

We want to create school expeditions and have a positive lasting effect in the students involved.

We want to encourage school expeditions that encourage physical activity (white-water rafting, elephant riding), promote students to have an active role in their own learning, promote teamwork and the ability to communicate ideas, encourage student appreciation of different cultures and importantly help them discover the world around them and how things have become the way they are.

Currently we are offering three different expeditions to either Borneo or Sumatra that all vary in terms of fun and adventure, but keep the core values of education and learning about a different culture.

Each student that takes part in this expedition will get the chance to adopt an orangutan and sponsor 100 hectares of rainforest, thereby saving it from destruction(Note: both orangutan adoption and sponsorship of rainforest included in the pricing.)
